Hubert Haderthauer/SAPOR
All Huberts models were of extremely limited edition runs of a maximum of 25 - with each fully working 1:8th scale scratch built model by Dr Hubert Haderthauer to his own exacting standards with the emphasis on producing the perfect miniature. All his models actually drive, with the assistance of an electric power supply; like a real car and have working clutches, gears, hand brakes and accelerator/brake pedals. The hinged cowlings open to show completely replicated engines and models benefit from having working steering and suspension. Most of the models have around 5,800 parts; all of which are scratch built from raw materials. To meet the high quality standards SAPOR constructed about 1700 drilling devices and over 800 bending, punching and moulding tools of their own. All the model cars were finished off in three coats of livery paint on top of a primer coat and the models all had perfectly realistic, real leather hand stitched and buttoned seats, the use of solid woods in the cockpits, glass windscreens, aero screens and fascia dials, chrome work to the radiators, horn, headlights, exhaust work, silver work, steel, copper, aluminium and brass parts, individually soldered spoked wheels and a working canvas hood. This example is one of only 25 built and stands at nearly two feet in length.
