JOHN SHINTON & AMALGAM – A rare Jacques Villeneuve 1:8th model WILLIAMS FW19 1997 Grand Prix car.
This is a one off scratch built 1:8th scale Jerez raced World Championship decider version of the car that won the 1997 Grand Prix World Championship; with a John Shinton complete rear end rebuild to depict the specific car for that race.
Up to Suzuka; Michael Schumacher was well in the lead on points in the 1997 Grand Prix season and was expected to be the World Champion at the end of the last race in Jerez. However, during that race, Schumacher collided with Villeneuve and had to withdraw. This enabled the Canadian, in his second F1 season, to win his first world title with 81 points and a total of 7 Grand Prix wins in the Williams Renault FW19.
This model of the 1997 world championship car as driven by J Villeneuve sits on a solid wood base complete with grey floor trim and an engraved plaque. The individually liveried and detailed resin bodied car comes with solid rubber tyres and has a large selection of white metal photo etched body parts. The model is also encased in a perspex case and was originally number 4 of 20. With the rebuild to the rear of the car having recently been completed at the behest of the owner, this model is now a one off. (Aprox 26 inches long)
